About My Clients
Oftentimes, the universe seems to enjoy throwing curveballs right when life starts to settle. And it can be damn helpful to have a safe space to sort through it all. I join clients in navigating these ‘unexpecteds’ and strengthening into their ‘you’ in the process.
My Background and Approach
I'm a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker, sarcastic human, & fellow unrooter. In today’s world, many of us spend a lot of time trying to become grounded & centered humans. Unfortunately, along the way, it’s easy to get caught up in perfecting that picture of ‘grounding and centered’; often times to our own detriment. Life is hard. Life is messy. Life is unexpected. And life can feel pretty unrooted. I work with clients on unrooting from the 'unhelpfuls' so that they can spend more time actually being in life. I believe that a connecting therapeutic relationship can be foundational for change. One size does not fit all; I integrate an eclectic mix of approaches. It can sometimes be difficult and frustrating to find that "right" therapist. My hope is that you can step away from our work together feeling met and understood.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I identify as an anti-racist, feminist, gender & sexuality-affirming, all-body, all-ability inclusive provider. I see importance in creating space for exploring the impact of adversities faced as a result of prejudice & discrimination, as I’m aware how impactful this can be on mental & emotional wellbeing. One of my greatest gratitudes as a therapist is being able to partner with clients as they share & process through their stories. As a cisgender, white-identifying individual, I’m aware that I hold layers of privilege. I’m here to unlearn, learn, & strengthen my ears & voice in individual & systemic change.
