About My Clients
My clients are lost, undergoing life transitions, trying to be their true selves, figuring out emotions, wanting to address their relationships, and/or ready to start being better, or in my words 'well'.
My Background and Approach
In my years of experience, I have worked in a variety of settings including K-12 schools, community counseling organizations, a medical school, Intensive Outpatient program, addiction centers, and other state and local healthcare facilities. With an individualized approach to each case I encountered, I employed Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral therapy, Motivatioanl Interviewing, and Solution-Focused Brief therapy techniques while being trauma-informed. I gained my independent licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and a certification as Myers-Briggs Type Indicator trained to administer and facilitate interpretation of this psychological measurement tool.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I have been a therapist for approaching a decade. But in actuality, I have been supportive since I could form words. I’ve been a helper longer than I’ve been a person. And in becoming person, I realized I wanted to heal people by providing a safe, open space to explore your struggles, dreams, conners, thoughts, and feelings so you can achieve peace navigating this interesting thing called life. I specialize in talk therapy, specifically Person-centered theory or the Rogerian approach. In my experience, I have encountered and used all clinical modalities and ensure if a deviation is needed, the job will be done. Primarily, through words, connection, and compassion, I hope to shed light on dark uncovered places to find an end to what feels like a tunnel. When we meet, you can expect check ins, feelings identification, and dialectical thinking and mindfulness considerations.
