About My Clients
Do you feel overwhelming shame leading you to retreat into habits that you don't want anymore? Do you find yourself caught in negative thought spirals? Maybe you're using food and weight to try and feel a sense of control of your life. It can feel isolating and confusing trying to navigate life when it feels like you can't shut your brain off. My work focuses on supporting adults dealing with eating disorders, trauma, anxiety, and body image concerns.
My Background and Approach
I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and an EMDRIA approved EMDR therapist. I have experience working in multiple levels of care including residential, PHP, IOP, and community mental health. I use a person-centered and trauma informed approach to help assess and tailor treatment to your unique needs as an individual. With my work with eating disorders, it has allowed me the opportunity to work with a range of problems, including identity, OCD, trauma, attachment issues, and neurodivergence. It is my goal to provide you with a safe, calm, nonjudgmental environment to empower you to make helpful changes in your life.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that the relationship we have with ourselves is the most important. Effective change is possible when we have the space to be open without the fear of judgment. I am an LGBTQ+ and neurodivergent affirming therapist. I am culturally responsive and take a feminist approach to treatment. With regards to eating disorder recovery, I have experience with recovery at every stage and I understand the different challenges that come with it. Whether it is societal pressure, physical discomfort, or other outstanding circumstances that can impact recovery, it is my goal to ensure that you feel safe to address these problems so that we can work to improve your relationship with food, your body, and yourself.
