About My Clients
Having difficulty finding a therapist of color who understands your experience? I understand your struggle. Being a person of color in our society comes with its own unique experience, along with the everyday struggles and challenges we all face. It’s difficult and frustrating to have to explain this unique experience to someone before you can even address your reason for being there. I understand your experience and I am to say that I can help.
My Background and Approach
My background consists of facilitating groups as well as providing individual counseling to adolescents at a high school; work as a counselor in an acute mental health hospital; as well as providing individual and family therapy to families involved with CPS. My therapeutic approach is experiential and strengths-based, underscoring the strengths and resilience you bring, while prioritizing your unique experience. My approach is also solution-focused, which involves helping you learn new coping skills and new ways of framing issues, if that is what you wish. You are in the driver's seat of your therapy experience as we explore your needs.
