Do you struggle with feeling overwhelmed or on edge? Like life is not as good as it should be? Challenged with loving someone in addiction or the military? Haunted by the past? Lost? Disconnected? Does it affect your relationships, work, and overall happiness from life? Now more than ever, people are feeling anxious, overwhelmed and uncertain about how they are supposed to manage their relationships, careers and their lives. I have built my practice to help others navigate the hard in life.
My Background and Approach
I received a Bachelors Degree in Psychology from Columbia College in 2008, and a Master of Science in Counseling Psychology from Avila University in 2012. I have worked in outpatient, inpatient, community mental health and private practice, with adolescents and adults. Using a strengths-based and person-centered approaches, I balance with directness. I have over 10 years experience working with adults and adolescents in outpatient, inpatient, and private practice settings. My background allows me to help clients with some of the most challenging difficulties in life. I do all of this around your schedule and convenience! I consider myself Eclectic, utilizing several modalities and treatment strategies to best meet the need of my client. I often use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness, Compassion, as well as many other modalities in my practice. In your first session, we'll explore what brought you to therapy and then decide the most appropriate ways to help you make progress.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that everyone can change and grow at any time in their lives. I don't believe that there is a limit to human capacity. I think the main reason we develop mental health issues is because they are unhealthy learned behaviors that we have picked up along the way. Which means that I think you can unlearn the faulty behaviors and replace them with healthy ones.
