My Background and Approach
With years of experience treating PTSD, including work with Veterans at the VA, I specialize in reducing trauma symptoms such as distressing memories, anxiety, and irritability by empowering clients to regain balance and confidence. I also specialize in treating body-focused repetitive behaviors like trichotillomania, drawing from personal experience. I use Habit Reversal Training (HRT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help clients develop healthier habits and increase awareness and moments of choice. As a member of the Trichotillomania Learning Center, I stay current with the latest research to ensure effective treatment. My approach is collaborative and trauma-informed, with a focus on creating a safe, supportive space for healing and lasting change.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I value collaboration and community, believing that mental health support should be accessible to all. Outside of my practice, I engage with several organizations focused on trauma recovery and community mental health, as I am passionate about creating safe spaces for individuals to find their voices and reclaim their narratives. I strive to foster an environment where everyone feels valued and heard.
