About My Clients
Hello and welcome. As a trauma therapist, I believe that one of the biggest indicators of finding therapy helpful is a solid therapeutic alliance, which means feeling like I am the right fit for you to meet your goals. In the past, I have connected and worked well with health care workers, therapists, anyone else at high risk of burnout. I have a passion working with folks living with chronic illness and pain as they navigate the complex healthcare system.
My Background and Approach
My approach is trauma-informed, attuned, compassionate, transparent, and person-centered. I also can recognize the value in having a light-hearted, humorous, and casual approach in the clinical space as well. My goal is to help therapy feel like a safe space you can express yourself and not just another appointment on your schedule. I have an eclectic approach to working with clients as I don't believe there is a singular way to help someone through their trauma or struggles. I pull from frameworks such as Person-Centered Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy/attachment based modalities, Narrative Therapy, Somatic/Experiential Therapy, Internal Family Systems, EMDR, Feminist Therapy.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
As a person who walks through the world with privilege, I am intentional and mindful to keep my work trauma-informed, culturally-inclusive, anti-oppressive, anti-racist, while holding an understanding that I will always be unlearning my implicit biases and this work is never complete. I maintain the stance that therapy is inherently political and you cannot separate the political from the personal. How does this show up in the therapy room? With your consent, I welcome us to explore how systems much larger than you and I have impacted your wellbeing and have shaped your view of self.
