About My Clients
I specialize in the unique issues and challenges that women, teens, and children may face. All of my clients are doing the best they can, with the tools they currently have. There just seems to be something missing. It is my goal to help you rediscover your authentic self, feel more in control, and create meaning from your experiences.
My Background and Approach
I received my bachelor's degree in education, writing, and philosophy from Georgia Southern University. I then received my Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Texas Tech University. I am a sand therapy specialist and utilize a variety of creative approaches in counseling. Play and expressive arts can be healing for all ages and can help you connect back to your core self. My style of therapy is integrated; I use person-centered talk and non-verbal therapies in order to empower you in a manner that is free of shame, stigma, and judgment.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe counseling can be a warm experience. You are the expert of your life and as your therapist, I am here to walk alongside you as we find meaning and process the experiences you've encountered on your journey. I'm here to hold the lantern as we rediscover the resources you have and gain a deeper connection to yourself and to others. One of my favorite quotes that I tend to reflect on often and help guide my practice is, "Can you remember who you were before the world told you who you should be?" -Charles Bukowski.
