About My Clients

I work with adults across the lifespan who want to make peace with their past, their body, and the world. I have previously worked with folks exiting the cycle of homelessness, adults with extensive childhood trauma, people who struggle with chronic pain and disordered eating, and queer and trans folks on the journey of self-discovery. I love to walk alongside someone as they go through the metamorphosis of becoming who they want to be.

My Background and Approach

I am trained in the use of Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and enjoy weaving this specialized modality in with other techniques, such as mindfulness skills, narrative therapy, and compassionate inquiry. Drawing from a foundation in social work and an anti-oppressive, trauma-informed lens, I support clients in challenging internal and external narratives of unworthiness. I have experience working with a wide range of mental health concerns, including depression and anxiety, trauma and PTSD, disordered eating, attachment issues, grief and loss, chronic illness and chronic pain, gender identity exploration, and self-esteem. It is an honor to get to know my clients' unique perspectives and experiences, and I tailor my approach to each person's individual needs.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe that therapy can help us understand our wounds and begin to create new pathways toward empowerment, connection, and peace. When we explore our relational patterns and personal mythology with curiosity, insight, and care, healing becomes possible. I view the therapeutic process as collaborative, creative, and dynamic, and I hope to serve as a guide in the reintegration of mind, body, and soul after difficult experiences. As a queer, disabled therapist, I welcome and honor all of my clients' identities and experiences. I know that I hold both privilege and disadvantage in my own identities, and I strive to use my privilege to disrupt systems of oppression and violence in the world whenever possible. I enjoy guiding people who want to explore how they can show up with greater authenticity and compassion with themselves and others. I will encourage you to actively shape the therapeutic experience for yourself. You are the expert on your own life!
