About My Clients
I've worked in a wide variety of settings, including with adolescents in the juvenile justice system, with children and families in community mental health, and most recently with adults in a small-group practice specializing in EMDR. I am gaining more experience in a few groups I'm particularly interested in supporting which are first responders and men generally who are ready to deepen self-understanding, break free from past difficult experience and improve relationships in their lives.
My Background and Approach
If you're seeking support through EMDR therapy, I offer a grounded, trauma-informed space to help you process what feels stuck, reduce emotional triggers, and move toward greater calm, clarity, and self-trust. This work can support you in feeling more present in your relationships, more regulated in your emotions, and less defined by the weight of past experiences. With EMDR, you can learn to break free from old patterns, emotional overwhelm, and the feeling of being 'stuck in your head' or on edge. Over time, it can help reduce avoidance, reactivity, and the sense of being hijacked by memories or stress responses that no longer fit your present life. I was trained in EMDR in March of 2024. It is my primary modality because I believe in its effectiveness. I like to work with my clients to identify goals that are important to them, work at a pace that is comfortable to you and clinically indicated. I am happy to work outside of EMDR framework whenever that is appropriate.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that challenges arise from the pressure we experience in the world to conform or "be a certain way", this could be overt messages or covert messaging from family, society or faith-based community. This pressure pulls us away from who we truly are and that distress is often what brings people to therapy. I help people identify how past experience have creating lasting impacts, empower positive change a pace that feels safe and using Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) work through difficult past experiences so that you can live with more freedom. This helps bring actions and authenticity into alignment to help you reach your therapy goals.
