About My Clients

I work with individuals 12+ and couples who are working through life transitions, anxiety, trauma symptoms, identity-based issues, and/or relationship concerns. I also specialize in culturally sensitive therapy and working with individuals who are POC, LGBTQ+, poly/ENM, or children of immigrants.

My Background and Approach

As a therapist, I use a highly person-centered and holistic approach in working with clients. You can expect our sessions to be collaborative, explorative, and focused on empowering and uncovering your inner voice. My therapeutic style is informed by CBT, mindfulness, and ACT, meaning that our sessions may involve witnessing emotions/experiences, fostering non-judgment and self-acceptance, and finding more helpful and compassionate ways of thinking and being. As a person, I am a true people's person who loves to dive as deep with others as they are willing to go. I have a knack for connecting with others, challenging the status quo, and finding ways to cultivate joy and hope while also holding space for painful emotions and experiences. I'll celebrate your wins, sit with your struggles, give you room to laugh, cry, and all things in-between.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

Liberation psychology and multicultural counseling are the prism through which I view my therapeutic practice — I have a background in systems-oriented work and I strongly believe that all people exist within interlocking systems where our environments, privileges, marginalized identities, and histories impact our psyche. My own various intersecting identities (Asian American, Korean, 1.5-gen immigrant, queer) help me uniquely empathize with clients. I believe in the importance of the mind-body connection and the decolonization of Western psychology through understanding the ways in which the West has both appropriated and suppressed non-Western healing practices. Based on my own time in therapy, I enjoy incorporating expressive, experiential, and somatic techniques if that feels right for the client, whether that be through music, writing, movement, mindfulness, breathwork, or spirituality.

I offer online counseling in the following states:
