About My Clients

I specialize in treating young people confronting barriers related to substance misuse, complex trauma, & major life changes. I am allied with the LGBTQIA+ community and have experience working with first responders and veterans. Our work will focus on uncovering your strengths & wisdom in an inclusive, affirming, and you-centered therapeutic environment.

My Background and Approach

I practice an integrative approach to psychotherapy, using evidenced-based techniques, creative arts, and a combination of therapeutic styles to support your individual needs and goals. In using evidence-based treatments (like EMDR and DBT) along with creative inquiry, spiritual exploration & mindfulness practices with a theoretical grounding in integrative psychodynamic therapies and Liberation Psychology, I will work with you to identify unhelpful reactive patterns and assist you in creating new ways of living. Together, we will focus on uncovering and highlighting your resilience and creating the conditions for long-lasting positive change.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

After years of working on the front lines of progressive change, protesting in the streets, and participating in community organizing campaigns, I have shifted my focus to working with individuals. I am a firm believer in the power of the people and believe that systemic change begins at the individual level. Like ripples in a pond, I believe that creating a positive shift in one person leads to enhancing entire communities. I have worked with survivors of sexual assault in Emergency rooms, Family Justice Centers, and Treatment Centers in Chicago, Los Angeles, and Ventura County for the past 10 years. I have years of experience working in crisis counseling and supporting people struggling in inpatient and outpatient facilities. I believe the people that have been to those darkest places in their psyche have extraordinary potential to forge new and inspired paths. When I am not in session, I am hanging out with my dog, reading, or in the outdoors saying "WOW" at the beauty around me.

I offer online counseling in the following states:
