About My Clients
I best serve people who are in this approximate age range (16-35) who are experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma and problems in relationships. Those who want to feel seen, supported and challenged in therapy. Who want to understand their feelings and respond to them effectively. Looking to identify patterns and coping styles that are keeping them stuck. And developing a wide range of helpful tools with actionable steps to take between sessions.
My Background and Approach
I specialize in anxiety, depression, trauma and relationships. I am certified in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. My approach is intuitive, holistic, and collaborative. My modalities include CBT, Mindfulness, Experiential, and Somatic interventions to create movement/change. I have experience working at Open Paths Counseling Center (a low cost/no cost community clinic) serving Adults, and leading the Social Anxiety group. I then became a Wraparound Clinician for Hathaway-Sycamores working on a crisis intervention team, serving children and families in the DCFS, foster care and criminal justice systems. Having worked with youth and families, has enriched my ability to assess the effects of upbringing and family systems as I work with adults today. This experience has also empowered me to challenge systems of oppression, and led me to work outside of these systems as best I can.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe quality therapy is a right and must be accessible to all. I work from a social justice framework, and value the importance of individuals understanding themselves within the context of the communities they live in. I strive for contributing to community care.
