My Background and Approach
I have been a student of meditation for over 30 years, and incorporate mindfulness into my work. I will use meditation as a tool so you can experience it in a way that is more engaging than if you were listening to an audio or doing it on your own. I have also engaged in various different spiritual practices and study throughout my adult life. I love holding space for other's spiritual inquiry/path - whatever it is. I have completed the Death Doula Training from The Inelda Institute and I have been in private practice as a psychotherapist since 2006. Before my career as a psychotherapist, I was a licensed massage therapist and had both a private practice and worked for hospice home care. I've been involved in music performance since I was child and I have insight into the high demands and perfectionism that can go along with being in the arts. I feel that in order to create art with depth, one must feel deeply. I can help with creating a container to hold those feelings.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
As both a psychotherapist and lifelong musician, I care deeply about supporting creative, sensitive, and emotionally thoughtful people in developing a more connected and compassionate relationship with themselves. I value authenticity, emotional depth, curiosity, mindfulness, and creating a therapeutic space where people feel safe exploring both the practical and existential aspects of their lives. I work from an inclusive, nonjudgmental, and trauma-informed perspective, and I believe therapy can be a place not only for symptom relief, but also for greater self-understanding, nervous system healing, creativity, emotional resilience, and meaningful personal transformation. I welcome individuals from diverse backgrounds, identities, belief systems, and life experiences, including those exploring spirituality, creativity, identity, relationships, and life transitions.
