About My Clients
Clients I work with may struggle to be the person they most want to be, but aren't sure how to reach their goals. Sometimes this shows up in the form of worries, hopelessness, relationship problems, or just feeling stuck. Others may feel they've been impacted by very stressful experiences, such as a chaotic childhood or significant loss.
My Background and Approach
I support adults who are experiencing symptoms related to trauma, anxiety, and depression. My work supports you to explore what you want for yourself by identifying themes and patterns that may be keeping you from your goals. Drawing upon my experience with yoga, dance, mindfulness, and somatic training, I bring attention to the body-mind connection to view you holistically. My approach also prioritizes a systemic, social-justice lens to support you in the context of your environment. I have specialized training in treating complex trauma, which honors the strategies we develop to adapt to our environment. I'm also trained in CPT for PTSD, which addresses the effects of life-threatening events.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I ally with the HAES and fat acceptance movement, and have a research background in the mental health effects of weight stigma. I hold a social-justice lens in my work, informed by the knowledge that mental wellbeing is impacted by our sociopolitical settings.
