About My Clients
My primary interests are working with trans and non-binary children, youth and adults. I provide individual therapy and assistance with gender care needs, including gender identity exploration, disclosures, family/partner relationships and social/medical/surgical transition options. Although a large part of my practice is devoted to work around gender, I continue to work with the larger LGBTQ+ community, survivors of trauma and folks looking to foster greater emotional wellness.
My Background and Approach
I am a licensed clinical social worker with over 20 years of clinical experience. After graduating from Washington University in 1997, I spent a decade working with sexual abuse survivors, children struggling with mental health issues and adolescents in a therapeutic school setting. As my career evolved, I was fortunate enough to start a private practice which has grown to focus on serving LGBTQ+ folx, especially trans and non-binary clients. I count myself as very lucky to get to do what I do.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I recognize every individual as unique and worthy as are their experiences, needs and journeys. In and out of my work, I look to approach every human with empathy, kindness and curiosity. I believe in the innate goodness within people and am well aware of deep impacts that trauma has on a person's development. We live in a complicated and often harsh world that can leave us feeling lost, confused and even broken. My hope is to help clients find pathways to a clearer view of their truth and power so they can know, build and achieve a life that reflects their deep strength and beauty.
