My Background and Approach
I have over 10 years of experience helping others and view therapy as a collaborative process. I see each person as a unique individual. I will meet you where you are, taking into account your cultural identity, background, and life experiences, and we will work together to create meaningful goals. I utilize Evidence Based Treatments like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) in my work, with also recognizing different people have different needs and I am able to adjust my practice to fit your needs. We can work together to reduce negative thinking patterns and stress, feel more connected to yourself and others, and decrease worry and find meaning in your life. I help you identify and use your strengths, utilize coping skills, and create lasting changes. My background is in social work and my credentials are LCSW (Licensed Clinical Social Worker).
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I support Black Lives Matter and I work under the acknowledgment that Black and Brown lives have been oppressed due to white privilege and systemic racism. I acknowledge these systems in therapy and provide space to process the emotions and situations that arise due to racism. All are welcome here 🏳️🌈 🏳️⚧️ . I support and work with people of all genders and sexualities. I am a LGBTQ+ affirming therapist and work to provide a safe space where everyone feels welcomed.
