Anxiety is a part of the human experience but for some of us the volume can get turned up to an ear-splitting level. My own experiences with anxiety have informed my approach to supporting others through the various forms anxiety takes such as self-judgment, perfectionism, general fear and unease, panic, and avoidance. Together we'll turn the volume down and help you find a sense of peace and connection.
Grief is a universal experience and one that can challenge us to find joy and connection in our everyday lives. Whether you've experienced the death of a loved one, a major life transition, divorce, or loss of identity, this is an opportunity to get closer to yourself, your complex feelings and pave the way to finding peace. I will walk alongside you as you process your grief and all the complicated experiences attached to it so that we can clearly connect to tools that offer relief.
Relationship stress carries a heavy burden and can impair our connection to ourselves and our partner. When you enter my office you'll be met with a safe space to process old wounds, better understand your partner's experiences, and tools to help heal and reconnect. This is about the two of you committing to be empathetic, patient and conscious so that you can identify your goals as a couple and actively work towards reaching them.
As a certified art therapist I believe this process has the power to connect you to your inner most self and offer insights that might have otherwise been left untouched. Many adults haven't created art since they graduated from middle school, but to reengage in the space is to reconnect to your most authentic self. When using art in session I will offer materials and a prompt based on the work you're doing to support your continuous growth and self-awareness.
The link between our thoughts, feelings and actions is undeniable, however, even when we see the connection taking actionable steps can be challenging. CBT offers manageable tools and interventions to support your goal of feeling more empowered in your life and in better control of your thought process. I'm a big believer in the power of patterns and habits and this is a chance to become conscious of how you can make real changes to the way you feel on a daily basis.
