About My Clients
I work with individuals are who are experiencing issues such as chronic pain and illness, anxiety, depression, and history of trauma. Many of my clients have difficulty managing symptoms of pain, illness, treatment side effects, overwhelm, and isolation. I also live with chronic pain and illness and personally understand the challenges and complexities of treatment.
My Background and Approach
Chronic pain and illness can impact all aspects of a person's life. They can be physically and mentally debilitating and directly affect relationships, work, finances, confidence, and ability to complete simple daily tasks. I utilize evidence based counseling techniques such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Mindfulness which have been shown to improve the way we relate to stress and pain. I am open, real, and non-judgmental and strive to help clients discover options, redefine realities, develop and attain goals, and build effective skills that can improve quality of life.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
My professional career has ventured from corporate marketing to creative self-employment as a photographer to a meaningful career in counseling. My secrets to managing my own personal stressors are self-awareness, embracing change, self-compassion, mindfulness, and creating goals that move toward purpose and meaning in life.
