About My Clients
Often individuals I work with describe themselves as trapped for financial or obligations in a "soul sucking job." Workplace related trauma or stress can be incredibly lonely, damaging to your self-image, and spill into aspects of your life outside of work. Escaping requires more than just finding a new job, to avoid jumping from a fire into another. I also work with cancer survivors processing and adapting after the physical demands of treatment lessen and they have more space to feel.
My Background and Approach
There’s not a single approach to life or counseling, so I work with clients to find what’s most supportive to them. I tend to be strengths based and inquire about the systems or communities my clients operate within. Theories I incorporate include: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), narrative, and strengths-based theories. I’ve been described as empathic, genuine, and kind by my peers. I welcome “difficult conversations” and tend towards “everyday speak” vs. “therapy speak.”
