About My Clients

Can you not remember the last time you were happy? Or felt content? Do you feel stuck in a life you didn't plan for? Did something happen to catch you off guard, whether it's the death of a loved one, unexpected loss of a job, or difficulty in your relationship. Depression and anxiety are real and can be debilitating. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, mindfulness techniques, and positive psychology from a strength base perspective have done wonders to remedy the symptoms. You don't have to suffer.

My Background and Approach

My background consists of being a part of a mobile crisis team encountering individuals with a range of diagnoses from: schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, substance abuse self medicating, chronic depression, anxiety disorders and many others. I've helped parents with CPS cases learn the parenting skills they need to get their children back. I've provided guidance to those in the depth of their darkest depression. I've helped them see the light and provide hope for a better future. I've taught valuable mindfulness skills to help manage severe anxiety symptoms. I use cognitive behavioral techniques and positive psychology to meet you where you currently are in your life. I address the incorrect behaviors and start from the coping skills you're currently using and build upon them to get you where you want to go; to help you meet your full potential. Change is not impossible; we can do it together. You are not alone. Anything is possible as long as you're willing to put in the work.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe change is possible if you're willing to come out of your comfort zone and put in the work needed to do so. I'm a positive person but also a realist. I know bad things happen to everyone but that doesn't mean what has happened to you has to control who you are today. I believe in giving back to the community and I am currently offering counseling sessions to victims of Hurricane Harvey for anyone who was traumatized by that natural disaster. I believe that you can live up to your full potential and be the person you've always wanted to be. It is our past experiences that shape how we view the world and even our role in that world. Nothing is impossible. I sometimes watch college football and am a die hard Roll Tide fan. I was originally born in Georgia but love Alabama the Beautiful. I've dealt with loss myself and live with the difficulty only those with a major physical handicap can understand. But I haven't let that stop me in my endeavors and goals and neither should you.
