About My Clients
Do you feel like your problems are too big? Do you struggle with feeling like you are too much or more so not enough? I can definitely relate if you do! I work with teens/adults struggling with anxiety, depression, addiction, and family in individual sessions, group, or crisis interventions. Whatever the circumstances a client is struggling with we work together to get to the root of the pain or problem, and step into healing using techniques that fit each client best.
My Background and Approach
I am an adult child of an alcoholic and I, like many others, have experienced anxiety, low self-esteem, depression, and had to work through my inadequacy wounds. As hard as that process was it gave me insight that I may not otherwise have with my clients. I use a multitude of modalities including Experiential Therapy, Equine Therapy, Psychodrama, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and focusing on family systems. Family systems does not mean blaming our parents. It does allow us to look at roles, dynamics, and patterns that were developed subconsciously. Not every modality works for every client. It is a collaborative approach to see what fits best.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe in meeting people where they are at, whatever that looks like. I believe in providing a safe space for clients so they have the allowance and freedom to process their pain as needed. This might be from my experience in working in a treatment center or with horses in our Equine program for so many years. It allows me to have a non-judgement zone that provides safety. This comes in handy if family group sessions are needed as well as interventions. We still dig into the work and unpack the pain clients are carrying. I just want to make sure the client feels heard, valued, and safe.
