About My Clients
My approach to therapy is that you are your own expert. I am empathetic, curious, warm and direct. I draw from relational, attachment-based, and feminist perspectives, and I work especially well with clients navigating identity, nontraditional relationships, self-esteem, eating disorders, and grief and loss.
My Background and Approach
I began providing counseling and therapy over 10 years ago to teens and young adults in residential school settings such as boarding schools and universities. For the past several years, I have expanded my clinical reach and currently see folks 13 and older. I also provide individual therapy and couples/polycules therapy. When we meet, you can expect a supportive and relaxed space where we focus on exploring what brings you to therapy and what you’re hoping to get out of the process. We’ll discuss current concerns, relationships, and the areas of your life that feel most important to you right now. We will also talk about any work you’ve already done!
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that people who come to therapy are curious about themselves, and trying to become who they really are. I believe that the trauma we endure over the course of our lives often leave us feeling stunted, fearful and can convince us not to be authentic with ourselves and others. With the anxieties, societal pressures, and heaviness of the state of the world, our sense of self, and our dreams can sometimes feel unattainable! I believe therapy can be a secure space in which we develop tools and narratives together that help you navigate the world, and bring you relief from any mental health symptoms you may be experiencing.
