About My Clients
I work with teens and adults who may look like they’re holding it together on the outside while feeling anxious, overwhelmed, disconnected, ashamed, or stuck inside. Many of my clients have experienced trauma, difficult relationships, people-pleasing, low self-worth, or years of putting everyone else first. You don’t have to have the perfect words for what you’re feeling. Together, we can make sense of what you’ve been carrying and help you feel safer and more connected to yourself.
My Background and Approach
My approach is trauma-informed, compassionate, and grounded in the belief that many of the ways we cope developed for a reason. Rather than asking, “What’s wrong with me?” I help clients become curious about what their mind and body have learned to do to survive. I use EMDR, somatic and body-based approaches, CBT, DBT, and relational therapy to help clients process painful experiences, understand their nervous system, strengthen boundaries, develop coping skills, and build healthier relationships with themselves and others. Therapy with me is collaborative and human. I’ll meet you with warmth and compassion, but I also won’t just sit back and nod. We’ll explore patterns, make connections, practice new skills, and gently work with the deeper experiences underneath them. My goal is for therapy to become a place where you feel safe enough to be honest, understood, and increasingly able to trust yourself.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe people make the most sense when we understand what they have lived through, not simply the symptoms they bring into therapy. I value compassion, authenticity, curiosity, and creating a space where people do not have to hide the parts of themselves they have learned to feel ashamed of. I believe healing is not about becoming a completely different person. Often, it is about understanding yourself more deeply, developing compassion for the ways you learned to survive, and discovering that you have more choices now. I also believe therapy should feel like a genuine relationship. You can expect warmth, humor when appropriate, honesty, and a therapist who is willing to sit with the hard things without judgment. All parts of you are welcome here—even the ones you have spent years believing were “too much,” “not enough,” or difficult to understand.
