About My Clients

I work with adults who are often the dependable person in their families, relationships, or workplaces but privately feel anxious, emotionally exhausted, disconnected, or stuck. You may understand what you “should” do but still react from old wounds, fear, shame, or self-doubt. I support clients navigating trauma, burnout, life transitions, relationship patterns, substance use, religious trauma, spiritual uncertainty, and the intersection of LGBTQ+ identity, faith, and belonging.

My Background and Approach

I am a North Carolina Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate, Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist Associate, and EMDR-trained therapist. I use EMDR, CBT, ACT, motivational interviewing, and trauma-informed approaches to help you understand both the source of your patterns and what can begin changing now. Our work may include identifying beliefs shaped by early relationships, processing painful experiences, strengthening emotional regulation, and practicing healthier responses in daily life. Before becoming a therapist, I served as an ordained minister, chaplain, and pastoral counselor. This background helps me understand the complexity of faith, doubt, religious expectations, and spiritual identity without imposing beliefs or answers. Therapy with me is collaborative, direct, curious, and grounded in respect. You do not have to arrive with the right words or a clear explanation of what is wrong. We begin with what is happening in your life now and work from there.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe people deserve therapy where they do not have to edit their identity, defend their experiences, or protect the therapist from uncomfortable truths. I am a Black lesbian therapist of Cameroonian heritage, and I understand that race, culture, sexuality, gender, family, faith, and community can shape both pain and healing. I am LGBTQ+ affirming and welcome clients from different religious traditions, clients questioning or reconstructing their faith, and clients who no longer identify with religion. I value curiosity over judgment, autonomy over imposed answers, and honest exploration over pressure to conform. I do not believe therapy should tell you who to become. It should help you understand what shaped you, decide what still belongs in your life, and build a life that reflects your values.
