About My Clients

I have a passion for working with individuals who feel motivated to make a change in their lives. Life is hard. We deal with stressful situations at home, at work, in school, in relationships with family, friends, and lovers. It's easy to get overwhelmed by life and recognize that something is just not going right. Whether you're dealing with stress, intense emotions, negative thoughts, or feel lost. Everybody could use some support. I love helping people who want to help themselves.

My Background and Approach

Throughout my career, I have worked with clients dealing with a wide range of concerns including: depression, anxiety, panic, stress, overwhelm, grief, anger, addiction, chronic illness, relationship issues, trauma, and identity topics related to gender, race, sexual/romantic orientation, and minority stress. I have worked in community clinics, psychosocial rehabilitation centers, residential housing programs, federally-funded HIV/AIDS services, outpatient offices, and virtual telehealth therapy settings. I use evidence-based practices in therapy, meaning that the approaches I use have been researched and shown to be effective. My approach combines cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) with subset approaches of dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT).

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

My intention as a therapist is to offer my clients a safe, trauma-informed, multiculturally-aware, LGBTQ+ friendly space for expressing themselves, challenging themselves, healing wounds, and growing. I have been described as warm, non-judgmental, and caring in the work I do. I love supporting my clients as they learn about themselves and implement new strategies for better managing stressful situations, negative thoughts, uncomfortable emotions, and relationship issues. I believe in social justice and equity. I believe that love is love, Black Lives Matter, and mental health is not just an individual but a systemic issue as well. I believe in "live and let live," and as a therapist my number one priority at all times is that you feel seen, respected, and valued for being EXACTLY who you are.
