About My Clients
Maybe you are struggling with that inner critic or are burned out from people pleasing so much that you feel disconnected from your true self. I work with clients who want to gain a better understanding of themselves, both mind and body, by digging deeper into life experiences and how these experiences have shaped a person's parts and sense of how they experience the world.
My Background and Approach
I have been a member of the LGBTQIA+ community my entire life and I have been supporting the community in my role as a therapist for the last 10 years. I have a strong understanding about the mechanisms of oppression that individuals in the community face at all levels - as individuals, in the community itself, and systemically. I specifically specialize in working with the trans population and those seeking a safe space to process experiences around identity. I provide psychological assessments for letters for those seeking gender affirming medical interventions. My approach to therapy is psychodynamic in foundation and I utilize interventions from Internal Family Systems, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Systems Theory, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. I weave in elements of self-compassion, humanistic therapy, and modeling to help build connection to the core self.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe in using a non-pathological approach to psychotherapy and have found that parts work, or Internal Family Systems, is a good pathway to access this care. I understand that being human is extraordinary and difficult at the same time. I know I can't change this fundamentally, but I believe in change through acceptance, self-compassion, and connection to all parts of ourselves.
