About My Clients
I most often work with those struggling with their sense of self, phase-of-life issues, and codependency/boundary setting. My clients are often high-functioning individuals who are "stuck" in a certain behavior pattern that likely served them at one point in life, but is now holding them back from showing up how they want to in life.
My Background and Approach
I received most of my experience at an outpatient substance use treatment facility, where I worked with individuals impacted by addiction. In doing so, I have supported clients through struggles with self-care, establishing healthy boundaries, examining their inner critic, and embodying a more compassionate sense of self. Connecting with someone and having the privilege of hearing their story has always brought me a deep sense of joy, and I believe that a strong therapeutic relationship is absolutely essential. I utilize a variety of modalities depending on a client’s needs, though my style can be described as person-centered and focused on the cultivation of mindful awareness and self-compassion. I often pull from Dialectical Behavior Therapy skills, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, attachment theory, and family systems theory.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
We cannot always control what life brings our way, but we can work to shift our relationship to the inevitable struggles that we encounter. I have experienced the transformational change that comes with accepting the circumstances that cannot be changed while also making changes where it may not have previously felt possible. It is my privilege to walk alongside clients in their pursuit of self-discovery, self-compassion, and acceptance.
