About My Clients

Were you raised in a family that had a lot of conflict, avoided talking about feelings or mental health, or experienced abuse in your relationships? Do you see generational patterns repeating themselves and find yourself trying to not "be like your parents"? Do you struggle with perfectionism or high expectations for yourself and others? I would love to help you process these complex feelings and lead you to a more calm and hopeful future.

My Background and Approach

I work with individuals and families that have been impacted by the criminal justice system. For adults, if you have been previously incarcerated, had complex relationships with incarcerated family members, or find yourself making poor decisions, we might be a good fit. If you are seeking therapy for your child, if they frequently have anger issues, get in trouble at school or home a lot, have been to ISS or sent to alternative schools, or seem to make impulsive decisions, I might be a good fit for them. If you or your family has endured trauma and abuse, it might be difficult to discuss those things, but I am here for you. I incorporate teaching of emotional and cognitive skills with a relational and conversational approach that helps my clients understand themselves and others better. Once this awareness comes, I work with my clients to make better decisions for themselves that lead to a more satisfying and hopeful life.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe that everyone has the capacity and even desire to change, but we can sometimes stand in our own way. I understand that some people have barriers that are very real and I work with clients to figure out how to remove those barriers or make adjustments to be successful despite the things standing in their way. I believe that a lot of people can make it hard for us to succeed and reach our goals, but it is ultimately our responsibility and duty to ourselves to push through the muck and fight for the life we deserve. I want to be a partner with you on your journey to understanding yourself and others and making the changes you can. Be bold! Take the first step to creating the life you want and deserve.
