About My Clients

You feel confused, overwhelmed, and conflicted about your identity, your past trauma, and where to go from here. As a counselor specializing in LGBTQIA+ issues and trauma, I see you, and I'm here to support you on your journey. You deserve a safe space to explore your identity and heal from past traumas. Your challenges are valid, and your goals—whether self-acceptance, healing, or healthier relationships—are achievable.

My Background and Approach

I take a holistic and relational approach to help you navigate trauma, self-discovery, and general life transitions. This looks like building trust with you, creating a mutual understanding that we are on this journey together, and walking beside you in this emotional landscape while you learn about yourself and understand what you have been through and are going through. At the heart of my practice is the Person-Centered approach, inspired by Carl Rogers. This theory emphasizes the creation of a safe, non-judgmental space where you can freely explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences. I believe in your innate capacity for growth and healing, and I strive to provide genuine empathy, unconditional positive regard, and authentic understanding. Building on the importance of relationships, Relational-Cultural Theory informs my practice. This theory underscores the interconnectedness of individuals and the transformative power of authentic connections.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe that emotional healing is possible, and at the heart of this is the innate healing power of the therapeutic relationship between client and counselor. Through my own therapy, I have been able to learn about myself, and the way I view the world, and I have overcome challenges surrounding depression, anxiety, PTSD, and relationship problems. My goal is to create a safe space for all of my clients, one where you can open up, grow, and discover yourself without fear of judgment. I operate on the belief that human beings are complex and intricate, no one is ALL good or ALL bad, and no two people are the same. I approach counseling with a genuine curiosity about who you are and where your unique journey is headed. I am a member of the LGBTQ+ community myself, and I strongly advocate for this community to be heard, accepted, and represented in mental health care. I am also an advocate for realistic, real self-care practices that can be accessible to anyone.
