About My Clients
Think of your life as a story. Who is the Author? My role as your therapist is to empower you as the author of your own story; you have more say over who you are than you might have been led to believe. I encourage people to tend to the parts of themselves that have been shamed or pushed aside, to seek and make room for knowledge that already lives within us. You deserve to receive care that celebrates your individual strengths, and builds on them in a sustainable way.
My Background and Approach
Areas that I have particular interest and experience working with include identity exploration (for adolescents, teens, and adults of all ages; we are always growing!), self-efficacy and self-esteem, body image, and complex relationships with food and eating. I utilize Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), CBT-E (Enhanced), Narrative Therapy, and Humanistic Therapy. My practice is also guided by principles of Health at Every Size (HAES).
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe in empowering people to live authentically, in a way that aligns with their own values and beliefs. I aim to practice antiracism both in my professional and personal life. I am a strong supporter and ally of the LGBTQIA+ community. I also resonate with folks who deconstruct from evangelical and baptist beliefs.
