Accepting Clients

Curiosity and openness. Sensitivity and compassion. Dashes of humor. These are a handful of the ways I meet my clients and approach therapy.

About My Clients

My clients can't be described in 500 characters, they are so much more nuanced than their struggles. However, a few of my more specific clinical specialties include working with those experiencing chronic illnesses and traumatic brain injuries, and the unseen grief, loss, trauma, and loneliness that can accompany. I also often see clients struggling with identity, who aim to deeply explore their inner self. Note: I offer free 10-minute consultation calls for you to see if we might be a good fit.

My Background and Approach

I aim to foster a safe and accepting space for you to feel secure and truly heard. I am trauma-informed, culturally humble, and sex-positive. I often collaborate with clients to explore the “why” of their patterns, thoughts, feelings, and coping skills that may have worked in the past but are fighting against them now. Together, we can then find your “how” for you to be able to move towards a life that is more balanced and aligned with your current values and goals. You are a unique individual (even if you don’t feel that way right now!) with your own unique experiences and identities, so I think your journey to healing and growth must be just as unique. My approach to therapy is eclectic and is rooted in techniques and insights from modalities such as acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), strengths-based therapy, and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). I have been privileged to work with clients with a wide range of backgrounds, ages, identities, experiences, and problems.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I am passionate about helping others and have been involved in the mental health field since 2018. I’ve witnessed the level of dismissal so many have received from many medical and mental health professionals, which is what led me to further my education and become a therapist. Unfortunately, I can't undo the dismissiveness you and others may have experienced in the past. But, I want to make sure there is one more therapist out there with the understanding of the complexities and truths of each individual. I want to make sure there is one more therapist that doesn't jump to conclusions, invalidate your experiences or judge you for any of your identities or struggles. I welcome and value your complexities, your differences, and your identities.
