About My Clients
Couples come to me to heal from past betrayals, parenting challenges, and work/life balance stress. They come to be to better their communication skills and heal from past hurts.
My Background and Approach
I am level three trained in Relational Life Therapy and level two trained in the Gottman Method. I help couples move out of shame/blame and into healthy self-esteem and relationality. I use both an experiential and practical approach in sessions to help you get the things you need from your relationship. I am compassionate and direct. I believe a healthy relationship is built upon a foundation of deeply cherishing your partner, self-compassion, and accountability. Relationships require intentionality; otherwise, they die out. I have also attended training on affairs and infidelity. I offer couples a framework on how to recover from affairs and support them through the healing process.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I identify as a heterosexual, cis-gender black woman. I use she/her pronouns. I am a parent, military spouse, and a millennial. I know my sexuality & cis-gender identity carries privilege and my blackness hasn’t always. I hold space for those who do and don’t share my identifiers! My goal is for all my clients to feel comfortable in their identity- safe to just be when working with me :) To my LGBTQ+ people , I am not an expert in your experience or community but I hope my compassion and acceptance makes me an ally. To my Black and Brown folks, I am so happy to add my name to the small list of black therapists who provide perinatal, postpartum and couples therapy!
