Clients come to me worrying about being a “good parent” or they’re finding themselves at odds with their partner on HOW to parent. They come to therapy because they are having a hard time talking to their kids who are presenting as angry, withdrawn or challenging. Parents can feel really lost on how to get their kids to open up and talk so I come in as a support to get them feeling more confident and connected to their children

Clients come to me during their pregnancy or within one year of giving birth. They tend to express issues with sleep, restlessness, fears, intrusive or scary thoughts, irritability, or changes in appetite. These symptoms are having some negative impact on their day to day functioning and/or relationship with baby and family members. I can treat those experiencing a spectrum of perinatal mood disorders. I extend my focus past the mother/birthing person to encompass the WHOLE family’s transition

Ya'll are in a constant cycles of disconnect and negativity. Maybe resentment is building. Disagreements turn to arguments, frustration and misunderstanding. You want to better your communication skills and need someone to help get you guys out of this “stuck” place. That's where I come in! I believe emotional security, respect, and compassion are fundamental in creating and sustaining intimacy and love in a relationship. So I take a directive and coaching approach to get you there.

I am Level-Two trained in the Gottman Method approach to couples counseling. I really like this approach because it gives me and my clients a foundation to work with. It's skills based so the skills and tools we use in session can be applied to EVERY relationship issue. I see how it helps client's feel respected, secure, understood and overall feeling healthy in their relationship. Not only that- but they tools we use are great for those coming to me with their parenting concerns.

This approach means I come in with the understanding that you carry a story and this story is/ has been influenced by larger systems ( familial, community, society). I am naturally a strengths-based and systemic thinker. I'll help you see yourself outside of the "problems" you have. This may look like managing your anxiety, feeling more hopeful, or gaining deeper perspective on " why do I do that thing I do?.

I am Level Three trained in Relational Life Therapy. This counseling approach focuses on creating deep connection, intimacy, and empathy for oneself and their partner. In session I offer practical advice and coaching, I explore their family of origin and attachment history. It's important to create safety and alliance with my clients AND compassionately confront unhealthy behaviors in session.
