About My Clients
The therapeutic relationship, built on trust and understanding, is an essential component to therapy, and I strive to bring warmth, encouragement, and humor into our collaboration. I work with individuals struggling with eating disorders and body image issues, anxiety, depression, trauma/post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and related issues.
My Background and Approach
Although there is no one-size fits all approach to therapy, I incorporate trauma-informed approaches and treatments – such as EMDR. Additionally, I use theoretical orientations like internal family systems, psychodynamic, person-centered, existential, and experiential models, and I often draw from cognitive-behavioral and mindfulness-based techniques.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I hold a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, a Master of Science in Health Service Administration, and a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition. My education and professional experience in mental health, health care, and nutrition offer a depth and breadth of experience that enables me to view the whole person holistically.
