About My Clients
I provide a relational connection that allows folks to practice vulnerability, fearless expression, build ambiguity tolerance, process experiences, find self-awareness despite, or without, the presence of shame and guilt. I encourage the practice of trusting self and others; for some of you this may be the first time. You will find me to be authentic, energy matching, adaptive, and at times humorous. We will oscillate from gentle challenges to celebrations
My Background and Approach
I have been in the field of social work for over ten years. I have worked with transient adults, neurodevelopment supports for ASD, school systems, infant mental health, substance recovery. After receiving my Master’s Degree from the University of Chicago I provided service to queer youth and families, trauma care for families within the foster system, and led workshops of trauma informed care with other helping specialists. I am certified in Clinical Supervision and have sought specialized education in Gottman, Internal Family Systems, Developmental Needs Meeting Strategy for Ego State, Critical Incident System Management.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I acknowledge oppressive influences and service non-heteronormative lifestyles, practices, identity, and structures; sex workers, kink, queer and transgender exploration, non-monogamous structures serving both individuals, metamores, polycules. I am not averse to discussions of systemic oppression, religious influence, and racial justice. I am an atheist and value prosocial tendencies and policies. However, my views and beliefs are my own and I do not enforce my beliefs onto you or bring up these concepts unless it serves you. I’ve helped people who have left the church, converted to another faith, and those who would like to grow more in their faith. I do not value wasting your time, money with my views.
