About My Clients
Brain health is often placed on the back burner as we focus on navigating life's responsibilities and demands, rarely allowing ourselves the opportunity for healthy processing, and repair. If you are interested in holistic and integrative brain health practices, we would be a great fit to work together increasing not only your self-understanding, but gaining the tools to improve navigating your thoughts, feelings, and responses.
My Background and Approach
My experience spans a broad spectrum, encompassing stress, anxiety, major depressive disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder, post-relationship stress disorder, adjustment disorder issues, couple’s challenges, crisis de-escalation, co-occurring diagnosis and bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, and schizoaffective disorder. Kayla's professional journey has traversed various environments, from the high-pressure setting of emergency room psychiatric triage to the nuanced dynamics of psychiatric inpatient units, managing high-level county care outpatient programs, and the personalized realm of private practice. She has a history of facilitating group therapy sessions, covering crucial topics such as life skills, stress management, grief support, parenting, anger management, and sex offender recovery therapy. Kayla's therapeutic philosophy centers on the belief that every individual is the expert of their story, and while the past cannot be controlled, we can take ownership for our future.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
All individuals reserve the right to share at their own pace and understands the healing process is fluid. Through a collaborative person-centered approach, she assesses the need for a holistic perspective, considering the mind, body, and spiritual dimensions. Together, client and counselor embark on a solution-focused journey aimed at enhancing coping skills, fostering education, and reducing symptoms to overcome hindrances of personal growth. She acknowledges the courage it takes for individuals to seek a healthier, more resilient version of themselves and stands ready to be supportive of the transformative process.
