About My Clients
Life can get overwhelming. We have all gone through times when we have felt pressure to do more or be more than we think we can manage. This kind of unrelenting stress can lead to anxiety, depression, burnout and relationship problems. I know as I have lived it and therapy changed my life. I came to counseling as a second career after experiencing significant loss in my life and am passionate about supporting others who may be experiencing something similar.
My Background and Approach
I am here to be a supportive, non-judgmental and collaborative resource for you. I value the unique lived experience of each person or family I work with and I am committed to helping you figure out what you need and want. I have an informal, direct and eclectic style which incorporates my advanced training in EMDR, family systems and grief counseling. I know it can be hard to reach out for help. Many of us have grown up hearing things like “suck it up or be strong.” If these or similar messages play in your head, I invite you to pause the tape and take a step towards change. If you’d like to see if working together is a good fit, I would love to hear from you and I will get back to you within 24 hours.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe humans are innately kind and I believe the glass is half full. I believe every human deserves respect and love. I believe it is our responsibility to care for one another. Life is already hard enough...we shouldn’t make it any harder for each other. I fully support the LGBTQ community and I believe Black Lives Matter. I am passionate about women’s rights and equality. I have spent time taking calls on Lifeline, the National Suicide Prevention Hotline while I have also volunteered at BJC’s Evelyn’s House, providing support to patients on hospice and their families.
