About My Clients

I approach therapy through an intersectional lens because intersectionality is complex and multilayered, and so are you. An intersectional lens enables me to work collaboratively with individuals to explore the multiple identities and factors that influence a person’s psychological health and well-being such as race, sexuality, disability, gender, and more. As a Black and queer individual, I provide an affirming space for all, and I am committed to anti-oppressive and trauma-informed therapy.

My Background and Approach

Through my past experiences as a case manager for adults and a social worker for foster children, I have gained a deeper understanding of the therapeutic process. My experiences have shown me repeatedly that therapy is much more than applying clinical principles and methods. To me, therapy is about building a therapeutic relationship with clients centered on empathy and unconditional positive regard to enable healing and growth. I earned my bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Human Development from the University at Albany. I am currently pursuing a master’s degree in Counseling Psychology at Temple University. Along with providing services at The Better You Institute, I serve as the Gender & Sexuality Inclusion Extern for Temple’s Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion where I plan and execute projects to increase the visibility and support of the LGBTQIA+ community.

I offer online counseling in the following states:
