About My Clients
As a Black therapist, I enjoy working with people from various backgrounds seeking a culturally responsive environment where their lived experiences are understood without needing over-explanation. Wanting clarity, emotional balance, and support in understanding patterns that may be impacting your well-being is completely normal. If you are someone navigating anxiety, depression, stress, life transitions, relationship challenges, identity concerns, you are so strong.
My Background and Approach
I work with children, adolescents, and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, self-esteem concerns, relationship challenges, and life transitions. Many of my clients feel overwhelmed, stuck in patterns that are hard to change, or disconnected from themselves and others. I especially support individuals navigating the impact of childhood experiences, family stress, loss, and identity development. Some clients come to therapy wanting coping skills for emotional regulation, while others are seeking deeper insight into long-standing patterns in their relationships and self-perception. My goal is to offer a supportive, nonjudgmental space where clients feel safe to be honest about their experiences. Together, we focus on building insight, strengthening coping strategies, and developing a more grounded and compassionate relationship with self.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe therapy should be compassionate, collaborative, and affirming of identity and lived experience. I aim to create a space where clients feel respected, safe, and free of judgment. I am an ally to LGBTQ+ individuals and support identity exploration and self-acceptance. I also value social justice and equity, including efforts that promote dignity and fairness for marginalized communities. I understand mental health is shaped by both personal and social contexts, and I strive to hold space for both. I previously volunteered with a crisis text line during holidays, supporting people experiencing loneliness, grief, and distress. That experience reinforced my belief in empathy, presence, and nonjudgmental support. I see therapy as a collaborative space for growth and healing.
