About My Clients
Feeling overwhelmed and looking for practical steps? Facing change? Maybe you're struggling with navigating the health system and providers that do not understand where your physical health symptoms and mental health symptoms intersect? Do you want down to earth therapy? If any of this feels familiar I might be a fit. Clients with immunocompromised conditions welcome, I actively practice's safety protocols for chronic health conditions and am experienced working with client who have long COVID.
My Background and Approach
I often approach therapy by offering tools and strategies to help manage symptoms, creating space for deeper exploration and lasting change once stability is established. I am dual licensed for both mental health and substance use counseling and am trained in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Sensorimotor therapy (level 1). Having worked in community mental health for 10 years, I have experience with people with various background and experiences, and a wide variety of issues. I specialize in the areas of navigating chronic health conditions/pain and long COVID. I also have experience working with people facing anxiety, ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Borderline Personality Disorder, and mood disorders (including bipolar).
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
One of my core values that I bring into therapy is hope. I believe that anyone can change and grow when they want to, but sometimes it can be hard to see the path to the change we are wanting to create. Therapy can help you to find that path. Therapy can be like a mirror: It's hard to know how to get the spinach out of your teeth when you can't see where it is stuck. Therapy provides that outside perspective to navigate these challenges and changes. Another core value I bring to therapy is non-judgment and acceptance. People of all identities and backgrounds are welcome with me. I am committed to culturally responsive, anti-racist, anti-oppressive, and trauma-informed care.
