About My Clients
I will help equip you with the skills you need to calm anxiety, find the source of what is troubling you, and change patterns. Learning how to set boundaries with others and for ourselves are vital life skills and foundational to a positive self-worth and healthy, fulfilling relationships of all kinds. I have extensive experience working in this area as well as teaching clients how to build self-compassion while also fostering a safe place to process and heal from loss of all kinds.
My Background and Approach
I have been trained to view therapy through a systemic lens and utilize a strength-based, attachment focused, and person centered approach with a focus on shifting both thought and emotion. I do this through the utilization of techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Emotion Focus Therapy and somatic experiencing that address both thoughts and emotions, while also being aware of our bodies and the messages they are sending. My approach is integrative and research-based and tailored to you individually.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that it is human connection that is instrumental in healing and therefore think the therapeutic relationship is critically important. Our past, our relationships and our own view of self impact how we interact with the world and our place in it. I've experienced loss, grief, anxiety, and transitions, so I can understand and hold space for your experience. I do not believe people are broken, I believe everyone has the power to heal and to change and we all need a hand to get us there.
