About My Clients

In my practice, I see adults, teens, and couples. Coping with chronic illness, parenting, divorce, anxiety, grief and loss, and relationship troubles are particularly good matches for me.

My Background and Approach

I am trained as a marriage and family therapist, which means that whether I'm working with an individual, couples, or a family, I'm always deeply interested in the systems people are embedded within. I frequently use narrative therapy in my practice, which focuses on how the stories we tell about ourselves and others deeply impact our reality. Part of the work of narrative therapy is retelling our stories in deeper ways, and crafting narratives about who we want to be in the future. I also frequently use mindfulness, somatic therapy, trauma therapy, and psychodynamics.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

Life can go sideways in all kinds of ways, and therapy can give you concrete tools and aha moments that can change everything. My work focuses on deepening how we tell stories about ourselves and our lives, as well as understanding and healing the wounds we carry. I actively cultivate an atmosphere that welcomes and celebrates diversity of all kinds (race, sexual orientation, gender, class, age, ability, religion, spirituality). I approach therapy with empathy, honesty, humor, and a belief in healing and transformation.
