About My Clients
I serve a wide variety of clients, but over the years have noticed a large majority of those reaching out for therapy are seeking a place to better be able to process, cope and manage the stressors in their lives. Clients wanting to improve the ability to better understand emotions and what to do with them. I guide clients in being able to identify their personal needs, improve communication skills and better be able to set boundaries in their lives to create better overall self care.
My Background and Approach
I am a CA Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, with a specialty in substance abuse and a certification in perinatal mental health. I have spent my career working with a wide variety of clients and diagnosis. My early training focused on acute mental health care, specifically schizophrenia spectrum and bipolar disorder diagnosis. In more recent years I have worked in substance abuse treatment where I gained the specialty in addiction and dual diagnosis, serving both the individual and families affected.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe in the capacity to create change in our lives, no matter our age or life situation. Change can be difficult and seem impossible at times, whether its the pursuit of personal growth, development of healthier coping skills or the desire to overcome past hurt. Therapy is a safe space to receive support and the tools to take those steps toward change. Our first session we will work together to identify your therapeutic goals, these will be the foundation to which your therapy will be built on. I will listen, encourage and empower you in therapy, as well as provide you with education and practical tools to assist in the achievement of your goals for personal growth. I recognize finding the right therapist can feeling overwhelming and would love to connect with you to answer any questions or concerns you may have about therapy.
