About My Clients
I work with individuals and couples who all have the same thing in common: something that was working before isn't working anymore. Whether it's changes in your home or professional life, or even just your mood, I love helping people move from a place of feeling stuck to one of relief and confidence.
My Approach to Helping
I view therapy as a mirror, and you should be able to trust what is reflected back to you, both that the reflection is accurate and that you feel comfortable using that reflection to make necessary changes in your actions, your opinions of yourself, or your environment. I strive to balance a gentle, nurturing reflection with honesty and respect in all conversations so that tough work can happen in a safe way. I use an integrative approach that blends scientific, evidence-based modalities with warm, nurturing conversation. My philosophy is simple: I am an expert on mental health, and you are the expert on you. Together, we will get you where you want to go. As a psychotherapist with over ten years experience, I help my clients navigate the complexities of identity, ambition, and family life. My work is rooted in the belief that while the world around us is often chaotic, our internal world can be a place of confidence and clarity.
Why I Became a Therapist
Early in my young adulthood, I noticed that people felt comfortable sharing intimate aspects of their lives with me almost immediately after meeting. I have always preferred listening to speaking, and I am genuinely fascinated by people's beliefs, motivations, fears, and passions. Yet, as a young person, I didn't connect these dots to realize I would make a great therapist. Instead, I pursued a corporate career. I spent years in the corporate world thinking my job would be perfect if I could just build relationships all day without having to sell anything. I never minded difficult conversations, and I excelled at using imagery to explain abstract concepts, listening to clients' fears, and helping resolve them. Eventually, I put the pieces together. I realized there was a career that allowed me to listen, observe, build deep connections, and support personal growth and entirely free from sales quotes! I pivoted to therapy and have been thrilled with the shift ever since.
