About My Clients
Through diverse training opportunities, I’ve received supervision and instruction in numerous therapeutic modalities, and obtained more than 3 years of experience working with men, women, and adolescents navigating a wide range of clinical issues and concerns. My current therapeutic practice addresses a range of client concerns that include but are not limited to anxiety, mood disorders, ADHD, relational trauma, grief and loss, women's issues, relationship concerns and sexual issues.
My Background and Approach
My work often draws from psychodynamic, relational, and experiential treatment models, while seeking to respond flexibly to the needs of my clients. As a therapist, I believe that our early relational experiences often greatly impact how we navigate the world and come to see ourselves within it. Working to make sense of the rich context of our experiences with another can itself be a deeply informative and integrative process. Psychotherapy also offers the opportunity to observe the habitual but often unnoticed workings of our minds and nervous systems. Doing so often opens possibilities for valuable insight, and the flexibility to try out new ways of relating to ourselves, others, and the wider world. My work also incorporates a special interest in meditative practices and Buddhist philosophy, with an eye towards the the ways in which cultivating a compassionate and accepting stance towards emotional experience can promote wisdom and deep healing.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am drawn to the work of psychotherapy because I believe it is in the context of relationships that we come to know the many facets of ourselves, and can encounter opportunities for profound growth and healing. I understand therapy to be a process of joint exploration into the rich worlds both within and around us, and consider it a great privilege to think deeply with others about what matters most in their lives.
