About My Clients
I specialize in working with those who are neurodivergent and who wish to find self-acceptance, connection, and growth. Neurodivergent individuals I work with tend to identify as gifted, highly sensitive, autistic, ADHD, learning different, and intense. I also specialize in working with identity, primarily gender, sexuality, and the LGBTQ+ community. I work with all ages and groups including children, teens, adults, couples, and families.
My Background and Approach
I am licensed by the state of California as both a Professional Clinical Counselor and a Marriage and Family Therapist, and work as a therapist, consultant and clinical supervisor. I utilize a strengths-based, person-centered, and integrative approach when working with clients, which essentially means I work with each individual to discover what approach best helps them while utilizing an authentic and transparent style. You are the expert in you, and I work alongside you to create a plan to help you reach your goals. I employ many different techniques and theories including existential, narrative, play, sand-tray, mindfulness, relation-cultural, and family-systems.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
As someone who has always valued empathy and authenticity, I felt led towards the mental health field. I find it so important and so essential for people to embrace who they are and relish in their experience, rather than carry shame or embarrassment with them. I truly understand intensity, deep curiosity, and excitabilities, which allows me to meet my clients where they are at in the moment they see me, and provide them with a sense of safety so they can be their genuine self and process their experiences. I work to create a warm, inviting, and supportive environment for each and every client I see. I believe in the necessity of safety, and the feeling of acceptance while in therapy, and I am a therapist who will never judge you or your identity. My work is culturally inclusive, and affirming. I enjoy supporting my clients in understanding and learning more about themselves, which in turn leads them towards flourishing and embracing their life.
