About My Clients
Is a big life transition like college, a new career, motherhood, a new relationship or a recent move causing you anxiety that creates a sense of loneliness and isolation? Whether you are struggling with a life transition or a negative experience from the past, you don't have to do it alone. Within a safe therapeutic environment you have the possibility to connect experiences with emotions and develop tools for managing life's challenges.
My Background and Approach
I have 15 years of experience as a counselor in a variety of diverse settings, including urban, rural, and international. I understand the struggles in finding a therapist who really "gets it," due to my own personal journey in therapy, and want my clients to feel supported. I specialize in working with individuals going through big life transitions, as well as those who have experienced childhood trauma.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I work from a social justice oriented framework and strive to help clients find empowerment in learning tools for self-advocacy and self-care. This might come in the form of developing communication tools for asserting one's self in conflict, as well as setting healthy boundaries.Conflict is not always negative; it is often times what drives individuals in unhealthy circumstances to develop the tools necessary to cope more adaptively in the future.
