About My Clients

I know that therapy is an investment and that your time is valuable. I value my client's time and their experience. I believe that the therapeutic relationship provides space for people to try out new skills, speak their truths, and have the experience of connecting with their own self efficacy. We'll collaborate to help you build insight, deal with anxiety, and have better relationships.

My Background and Approach

Thank you for your consideration in choosing to work with me and share your story. My own educational, professional and training experiences provide context for how I work with the clients in my practice. Born and raised in Berkeley, I’m the daughter of a therapist. I attended UC Davis where I studied Women and Gender Studies as well as African American Studies. I worked for then Senator Barack Obama on Capitol Hill and also kept myself busy as the founder and event planner for UCDavis Cancer Survivors Network. After college, I joined Teach For America and taught Kindergarten in Brooklyn where I was recognized in my graduate studies in Education for using art to teach math. My approach is warm, collaborative and sensitive to each persons unique set of needs. I believe that the mind, body and spirit must be integrated in order to achieve lasting change. My style is direct, engaging and fun. I enjoy helping people become more resourced, less stressed and more connected.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe in seeing the good in people. I grew up in Berkeley, CA and believe strongly in community. I am especially attuned to issues of race, class, gender and identity. I am honored to hear people's stories and am amazed by their resilience and creativity. As a cancer survivor, I am especially attuned to the ways people make meaning in their life. I believe it is important to live the life that you want and that each day holds an opportunity for growth and change. Life is too short for unhealthy relationships and regrets.
