About My Clients
Teens and young adults navigating anxiety-spectrum concerns are my #1 jam, followed shortly thereafter by new/expecting parents - especially LGBTQ+ parents! I have advanced training and experience treating a variety mood and anxiety challenges to include those resulting in self-injurious behavior, and I love working beside folks as they find their own sense of comfort and confidence. I also have experience providing family building support for those navigating IUI, IVF, and surrogacy.
My Background and Approach
I am a pre-licensed therapist with a pre-therapist background in emergency medicine and military service. While my therapeutic-style is warm and person-centered, I will never shy away from challenging you to be your best self. I align most closely with ACT, DBT, IFS, and harm-reduction modalities and will work with you to determine what approach is most appropriate for you.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that we are all striving to do the best that we can with the knowledge and resources that we currently have - basically, that we all want to be and feel good. I also believe that good is a very abstract concept that, like most things, isn't binary. For that reason, it's likely that we will talk a bit about personal value systems, personal beliefs and how those systems and beliefs interact with those held by the friends, family, and community around you. Outside of my love for discussing all things "good," I am an advocate for LGBTQ+ rights and the destigmatization of suicidality and self-injury
