About My Clients
There are many reasons why we might find ourselves looking for a therapist. Perhaps there is a change in our lives and we need support managing it. Maybe we need help finding new strategies and tools for handling overwhelming emotions. Sometimes we might want to grow as a person or make a change, but need support or new skills to get there. Whatever your reason, it’s valid and important.
My Background and Approach
As a licensed clinical social worker with almost 20 years experience, I’ve helped people as young as two and as old as 85 in individual, group, family, and couples counseling. This work often focuses on addressing challenges around depression, anxiety, life transitions, grief, separation anxiety, and ADHD. A few strategies I draw on frequently include mindfulness, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, narrative therapy, IFS, and solution-focused therapy. People have described my style as intuitive, empathetic, and engaged. I am trained in multiple therapeutic modalities and, together, we will find the approach best suited to your meet your needs and desired outcomes.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that everyone has the opportunity for greater insight into themselves, resulting in a change in the way you relate to yourself and to others. I believe that you are the expert of yourself and my role is to be a guide and a support to help you discover you strength. This means that sometimes it is my role to help shift understanding or perspective, or to help you rewrite your narrative to better represent who you are or want to be, or to help you develop new skills to better help you cope with the things that are a struggle. I am here to support you.
